Eucalyptus Hydrosol

Eucalyptus Hydrosol is known for its attractive and fresh aroma also, it has several antiseptic and anti-oxidant properties that assist in the treatment of problems like grazes, insect bites and minor cuts. This hydrosol also includes mild tonic as well as skin cleansing properties and is generally considered safe to be used in bath preparations, lotions and creams. Moreover, it is also popular for its effectiveness against mucus and common cold.

A hydrosol is a process of extracting aromatic oils from various plants. Herbal hydrosols can easily be made at home in your kitchen. They are a great way to up the aroma factor in your life. While you are making the hydrosol your entire house will soak up the smell and then you can put the hydrosol in a spray bottle and spray it everywhere as often as you like.

Poor Karla had pneumonia, bronchitis and sinusitis all at once so she spent a couple of days drinking chocolate mint hydrosol in her tea and chest with the eucalyptus hydrosol. She said it did help her clear up-and as an added bonus the doctor thought she smelled like some kind of “herbal incense”.

Eucalyptus Hydrosol is extracted through hydro distillation method. Eucalyptus leaf water is distilled from twigs and leaves. The hydrosol is well known for its fresh, attractive and strong smell. The botanical name of Eucalyptus hydrosol is Eucalyptus globules. The common names of Eucalyptus hydrosol are Eucalyptus, Tasmanian blue gum, Southern blue gum. This hydrosol is easily soluble in water but insoluble in oils and alcohol.

These hydrosols are incredibly versatile and can also be used for making fragrant hair rinses, creams/lotions, shampoos, bath additives or just a plain face/body splash. This deep menthol eucalyptus hydrosol is fabulously aromatic. We wild crafted this eucalyptus on one of our annual trips and then distilled it in our food grade stainless still.

Eucalyptus was one plant that kept looking at for a very long time, there was a small plant of it in my school, and it had red flowers. It was only later that got to know of its multiple medicinal benefits.

Unlike water with essential oil added, hydrosols are made by distilling the whole plant and contain not only a small percentage of essential oils, but many of the water soluble components of the herbs, such as the natural alcohols, weak acids and tannins. They are more true to the essence of the plant and a more complete representation of it. They contain the same medicinal properties as the essential oils, but not as concentrated, so it can be used in more applications.

Eucalyptus hydrosol is very effectual in curing the problems like minor cuts, insect bites and grazes due to its ant-oxidant and antiseptic properties. This hydrosol also contains skin cleansing properties and mild tonic which make it safe to use in making lotions, creams as well as bath preparations.
